All fired up for the 14th!

The date is set.
There's a day to aim for, after over a year of not being sure where, let alone when I'd be off, it's such an exciting feeling to have an actual leaving date.

On the 14th of January I'll be on a plane heading to deepest darkest Africa! The project is based in the little village of Kiwangala, pronounced chi-wan-gala. In this little village there is a not so little school, which goes by the name of Chilrens' Sure House ( there's a little link to their website here if you want to find out more.. http://www.childrenssurehouse.com/ ) I think there's 800 pupils there, from the age of 5 up to 20, and I think I'll be teaching in the secondary section of the school... but I'll save the details till I'm actually there and I can explain properly.

I'm going out to join two girls who have been there since September with Project Trust. I'm a little nervous to be joining people who must've become very close over the past few months, but I'm very excited to meet them. I'm sure it'll give me a head start in settling in, having people to introduce me to everything!

Our house sounds pretty damn basic.. 2 rooms, 3 beds, a gas cylinder connected to a wee ring, little long drop which has to be reversed into, buckets for collecting water/ washing in, and a tap that's approximately a mile away.

Anyway, don't want to say too much, when I get there I'll be able to say lots more!

In the mean time, there's plenty to do, I have a big long list of thinks I need to somehow pack into a rucksack, one more hep B and rabies vaccine to go, malaria tablets to sort. I'm so excited though, the count down has begun.
